About this course

BA (Hons) Education (Top up) is split into two pathways; Early Years and Teaching and Learning Support. The purpose of the course is to produce highly qualified early years practitioners working with the relevant age group for their chosen pathway. Upon completion of the programme, students will have developed an awareness of current educational issues and polices, and the impact these have on their role and development of children in their care.

The programme will extend and progress students' knowledge and understanding of the needs and characteristics of children to enable them to support and develop inclusive practice. Although the programme does not include a work based element, there is an expectation that students will be working in a relevant setting on either a paid or voluntary basis. The scope of provision depends on your chosen pathway but could include: o Primary schools o Nurseries o Pre-Schools o Child-minders o Private Day Nurseries o After School and Holiday Clubs o Playgroups o Parent and Toddler Groups o Children’s Centres
