Early Childhood Studies Early childhood, the quality of education, provision and care, and the roles and responsibilities of all those involved with young children, parents and families, all have a significant influence on children’s achievement and life chances. The last decade has seen the wider development of early years provision, changes and challenges in aspects of education and care, and the recognition that early childhood and children’s experiences must be supported by a highly qualified workforce.
Studies in Primary Education This draws upon psychology, sociology and philosophy to take an applied approach to understanding how we can improve the education system and make positive change in the world. You will work alongside inspiring academics and supportive students to develop your critical thinking, communication, and creativity whilst forming lifelong friendships through engagement in collaborative projects exploring how we can develop the education system to address the challenges of the 21st century.
Our courses provide you with an understanding of education from a sociological and philosophical perspective, providing you with the skills and knowledge to continue into a range of career opportunities, including social work, working in early years and teacher training in a number of settings. Other career opportunities might include working in further education, charities, hospitals and professional services in roles such as outreach or education coordinators.
