Early Childhood Studies BA (Hons)

This programme builds on and consolidates existing knowledge, understanding and skills of working with children, strengthening the links between theory and practice. The aim is to facilitate professional development and career choices encouraging intellectual capabilities, reflection and analytical skills specifically related to the pedagogy of childhood.

What's next? You could progress to study School-centred initial teacher training EY (SCITT) or Early years initial teacher training (EYITT), or Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in Primary or Post-Compulsory Education at New College Durham. Alternatively, you could pursue a career as a Senior Early Years Practitioner, Higher Level Teaching Assistant or Family Support Worker.
