About this course

Childhood studies is an exciting field drawing on knowledge from psychology, sociology and psychoanalysis. Early childhood experiences contribute to formative development and affects children for the rest of their lives. The modern world presents a wide range of new and challenging experiences for children, including constant access to media, wider cultural diversity, cyber-bullying and larger school numbers.

This course prepares students to enter a career working with infants and children, whether in education, health care or children’s services, and make a positive contribution to these formative years

Successful students may choose to progress to the BA (Hons) (Top-up) Early Childhood Professional Studies, a one-year top up programme also delivered at the College, to gain a full Honours Degree award.
