About this course

Dietitians make a vital contribution to people's health and wellbeing. You’ll develop skills in critical evaluation and adaptability to prepare for the changing dynamics of working in health and social care.

As part of this course, you’ll: • Explore the composition of food, the nature of nutrients and their metabolism in the body, nutritional requirements throughout the lifespan and the dietary effects of food on health • Learn how to work alongside service users with acute and chronic disease in hospitals and primary care settings • Prepare to meet the responsibilities and expectations associated with being a healthcare professional • Consider the ethical and legal boundaries arising from exercising a professional duty of care

Occupational Health clearance and compliance with standard NHS immunisations requirements is mandatory and essential for placement attendance.

Professionally regulated The HCPC (Health & Care Professions Council) regulates dietetics. The title of Dietitian is protected by law. This means that anyone who uses this designated title must be on the HCPC Register. Successful completion of this course will give you the eligibility to apply for registration with the HCPC after you graduate.

This course is also accredited by BDA (The British Dietetic Association).
