About this course

Our BSc Dental Hygiene and Therapy course will give you the skills you need to register with the General Dental Council as a dental therapist or dental hygienist. The course takes a holistic approach to primary dental care. You will be trained to undertake a number of clinical procedures, such as periodontal treatment, simple fillings, dental radiographs and the extraction of primary teeth.

You will also develop excellent communication skills to motivate and encourage patients to develop good oral health habits.

We guarantee interviews on the BDS course for those students who have performed exceptionally well in the final year of the Dental Hygiene and Therapy course at The University of Manchester. Details of this scheme are published internally for eligible students.
