About this course

With the increasing sophistication of threats to the cyber landscape coupled with the rapid increase in attempts to disrupt our critical systems and gain commercial and personal data, there is an ever-increasing demand for high skilled cyber security graduates to defend individuals and organisations from a diverse range of cybercrimes with roles that focus on the risk, management and incident resilience aspects of the cyber sector.

Through a range of learning experiences, you will gain the knowledge of how to identify and treat risk and create resilience Information Security plans and policies that will support the management and operations of the organisation. The course is part of the National Cyber Security Academy, which brings the University, Welsh Government and industry experts together to tackle the skills gap and create experts who can fight against cybercrime.

This course is designed for those wishing to develop their career, leading in the area of cyber security risk identification and resilience across a range of industries such as Tech, Automotive, Engineering, Business and Health. You’ll be joining us in learning how to defend our communities from cybercrime through our multi-award-winning National Cyber Security Academy, which features cutting edge learning environments including a CISCO Networking Academy, Secure Operations Centre, and Digital Forensics Laboratory. Focusing on a range of cyber topics such as system security, digital forensic investigation, and risk & governance, you’ll gain a broad range of cyber security skills in an authentic, hands-on environment, with the opportunity to work towards being a Certified Cyber Ops Associate, before specialising in either digital forensics or security.
