You'll learn from experts in forensic and criminal psychology, offender profiling, prisons, desistence, and sexual offending. Our teaching staff are members of the university’s Centre for Psychological Research and Centre for Applied Social Research and are actively engaged in research and policy.
You'll benefit from insights and professional experience shared by guest practitioners as part of your modules. Past speakers have included police officers, magistrates, drug and alcohol practitioners, psychologists, and social workers.
Building your future potential As a student in the School of Humanities & Social Sciences, you’ll be encouraged to think about your future career right from the start of your learning journey. Information and advice about relevant future career options will be built into the first year of your degree. During your second and third years of study, you’ll be able to choose modules with live brief learning challenges (real life projects designed by employers) and work placement opportunities.
Volunteering will enable you to develop your professional skills and add experience to your CV. Previous students have volunteered as learning support workers for the Leeds Youth Justice Service.
