About this course
This new course (pending final approval from the University of Kent) has been designed and written in conjunction with academics and employers in the visual arts. It blends and develops emerging artists and designers’ own practice to equip them with the skills necessary to work professionally in the visual arts in a wide range of careers. Through a combination of theoretical development, continuing professional practice and valuable vocational experiences, it will deliver innovative, distinctive and exciting projects in businesses and places of work individualised to the learner that prepares emerging professionals to confidently meet the demands of the visual art market.
Over two years you will work on your own visual arts practice with other learners and our tutors and technicians in our industry standard studios and workshops. You will develop not only your own emerging practice but your marketing and promotional needs as working professional practitioners, developing concepts and solutions to real life employment challenges. We will provide a learning and teaching experience that allows you to synthesise ideas learnt on placement, adapting to trends and changes in the industry, which you will witness first hand and to be supported in realising your critical, intellectual, practical and professional applications.
After successfully completing this (FdA) you may wish to consider enrolling for additional year of study on the BA (Hons) Visual Art (Top-up).
