Industry related projects will help develop skills like teamwork, planning, problem solving and communication, all of which you may need in the work place. HNC/HND courses are well recognised by employers and they will see that you have the technical skills and knowledge to perform related roles within their business.
About the course This HND Construction course is a recognised Higher Education qualification. Students who complete this qualification successfully, may progress to the Level 5. This programme is delivered using a hybrid learning approach. Pearson BTEC Higher Nationals are designed to help students secure the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in the workplace. Technical Skills • Construction Site Management - understanding site operations: You’ll gain the ability to manage day-to-day operations on a construction site, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and safely. • Building Technology - knowledge of modern and traditional construction methods and materials, and how they are used in different types of projects. • Technical Drawing and Design - proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural drawings and technical blueprints. • Construction Law and Contracts - knowledge of construction law, including contract types, legal obligations, and dispute resolution procedures • Environmental and Sustainability Practices - knowledge of environmental regulations and sustainability principles, including energy-efficient building techniques, water conservation strategies, and waste management practices. • Construction Materials - a deep understanding of construction materials (e.g., concrete, steel, timber) and their properties, strengths, and applications in building structures. • Project Management - knowledge of the principles of project management, including planning, scheduling, and resource allocation using tools like Gantt charts or Critical Path Method (CPM).

Where will it take me?
