What is civil engineering? Civil engineering is behind how our modern towns and cities work. Civil engineers design, construct, maintain, upgrade, rehabilitate and repair major infrastructures used by humans while protecting the natural environment. As part of this course, you’ll:
Accredited IEng (Full) This degree is accredited by the Joint Board of Moderators (JBM) comprising the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE), Institute of Highway Engineers (IHE), the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (CIHT) and the Permanent Way Institution (PWI) on behalf of the Engineering Council as fully satisfying the educational base for an Incorporated Engineer (IEng). Hands-on experience The course team will help you secure work placements during the summer and your sandwich year, if you choose to take one. A placement or sandwich year will provide you with a great opportunity to gain practical experience in the workplace, which will help you stand out when applying for jobs after you graduate.
