About this course

The BA (Hons) Childhood Studies Degree (Top-up) is primarily aimed at those who have competed the Working with Children and Young People or Early Years Practice Foundation Degrees, however, it is also suitable for those who already hold a level 5 qualification in a relevant field too.

It is aimed at people who are passionate about children and young people, enjoy working in settings where they are and are person-centred who want to further their knowledge and understanding about both theory and practice.

A range of themes are covered and delivered by highly experienced tutors. This allows students to acquire knowledge and develop skills in areas such as: childhoods globally, current issues that relate to practice, multi-agency working, pedagogic practices, crime and research.

You will attain the equivalent of 120 credits, which with accumulation of 240 credits from a qualifying prior qualification, will enable you to complete the 360 credits requires for the BA (Hons) Childhood Studies.

Previous graduates have progressed to careers in management, SENDCo roles, pastoral work in educational settings, social care and community work, family outreach services and youth justice work.
