CENTRAL & EAST EUROPEAN STUDIES: - You will study the history, economics, politics and sociology of the countries of Central and Eastern Europe.The University is a hub for a government-funded Centre of Excellence for Russian, Central & East European Studies, so there are cultural, social and academic events throughout the year.

SOCIAL & PUBLIC POLICY: - Social and public policy focuses on finding ways to address global and societal challenges such as poverty and inequality, housing, health, technology, and sustainability. The programme applies ideas from political science, sociology and economics to understand how governments shape their responses to address people’s needs, welfare and wellbeing. The Social & Public Policy Teaching Team was awarded the prestigious Social Policy Association/Policy Press Outstanding Teaching Award 2020, in recognition of UofG’s excellence and innovation in teaching in social policy in the UK (SPA 2020).
