Business with Foundation Year

This BSc Business is constantly evolving to reflect the changing world of business and is one of our most popular courses in the Birkbeck Business School. It aims to provide you with an understanding of the different functional areas of business and a solid foundation for a career in business management. It focuses on developing your academic knowledge at the same time as providing you with a range of practical skills to enable you to succeed in the workplace.

What you will learn

You will develop an understanding of the key concepts in the business management discipline and explore the application of these concepts in practice. You will gain practical knowledge by engaging with practitioners to address real-life challenges.

How you will learn

You will learn via a range of different methods including lectures, seminars, presentations and group discussions. To help you gain practical knowledge first-hand, we also host guest speakers and offer you live case study sessions and panel discussions with entrepreneurs and practitioners.

You can study this course full- or part-time. You can also choose your own timetable for the core/compulsory modules selecting whether to study them in the daytime or in the evening.

Foundation Year

If you opt for the Foundation Year route, this will fully prepare you for undergraduate study. It is ideal if you are returning to study after a gap, or if you have not previously studied the relevant subjects, or if you didn't achieve the grades you need for a place on your chosen undergraduate degree.
