About this course
Why study this course This programme combines a broad-based business degree with a strong marketing and communications theme, emphasising the importance of relationships within and between businesses and the communities they operate in. You will examine the importance of business communication and the growing number of channels used to achieve it, developing practical and analytical skills underpinned by theoretical knowledge of corporate communications processes and strategies.
Communications modules are taught in intensive, small-group workshops. You will also study a wide range of topics from the Business Management programme, allowing you to keep your career options open, and to demonstrate a broad understanding of business and a wide range of transferrable skills.

Your programme of study Your first year provides a broad-based business management foundation with Principles of Marketing as a foundational module, including specialist communications guest lectures. In your second and final years you will study contemporary communications strategies with more Marketing options to suit, whilst uniquely building a portfolio via creative campaign workshops, including producing marketing video for the web.
The Business Management with Communications and a Year in Industry BSc will follow the same structure as the three-year programme, but you will complete a Year in Industry prior to the final year of study. You must achieve at least 2:1 (60%) in your second year to be eligible for a placement, which will usually be in a Communications, Marketing or PR role.
