About this course

Today’s businesses are more competitive than ever and are constantly looking for new ideas to keep them ahead of their rivals. Marketing plays a vital role in any organisation activity and is the most crucial factor to the success of any business.

On our Business Management and Marketing course you are encouraged to understand and apply marketing theories and techniques in a variety of roles and contexts. All students will take part in a ‘real-world’ business simulation task, imitating the experience of running a business with a group of fellow students. The focus of your studies will be on understanding the marketing philosophy that places the customer at the centre of business activity.

This course is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) and provides students with one exemption from a core module towards the CIM Level 4 Certificate in Professional Digital Marketing.

During your second year you will have a variety of unique opportunities to get involved in such as studying abroad, developing your own enterprise, undertaking an internship or simply continuing with your studies. You can study the course over four years with a placement or three years full-time. We strongly recommend that applicants consider the four-year sandwich route as this is shown to provide many tangible benefits to graduates.

Our BA (Hons) Business Management Joint Honours courses have Dual Award status with the Chartered Management Institute. Nottingham Business School at NTU is accredited by EQUIS and AACSB, which are internationally recognised hallmarks of excellence and quality for business education. We are one of only nine UK business schools recognised as a PRME Champion, and held up as an exemplar by the United Nations Principles of Responsible Management Education (PRME). NBS is also recognised by the Small Business Charter, as we play an effective role in supporting small businesses, local economies and student entrepreneurship.
