About this course

Why Business and Management (Business Law)? Become a manager and leader equipped with the skills and commercial insight to make a real difference in the ever-changing world of business. Accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), this course will give you the opportunity to develop essential skills, knowledge and experience whilst completing a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management as part of your studies. The law stream of this course provides an in-depth insight into some of the legal issues applicable to business and management. You’ll be able to identify where potential legal issues may arise and understand how the relevant legislation applies in different contexts.

In your first year you’ll gain solid grounding in all aspects of business and management and establish a broad understanding of different legal areas including Contract Law, tortious liabilities, intellectual property rights and business formation. You’ll then complete relevant legal modules such as commercial law, company law and employment law.

You’ll draw on the expertise of lecturers with extensive professional credentials and research experience, as well as learn from inspiring industry guest speakers. You will also take advantage of the cutting-edge facilities at our brand-new, state-of-the-art, Gloucestershire Business School. There will also be the option to choose a year-long placement in industry. Examples of a few of the renowned companies our students have worked for include Warner Media, IBM, Panasonic, GE Capital, GE Aviation, Sophos, John Lewis and Partners and British Airways.
