About this course
On our BEng Biomedical Engineering with Professional Experience degree you'll study with expert academics, develop your transferable skills, and learn how to diagnose, prevent and treat disease in this new and emerging field. This four-year course includes a year-long professional placement between your second and final year of study.
You will engage in practical lab-based classes during your studies, enhancing different practical skills. You'll also experience techniques such as immuno-fluorescent labelling, microscopy, DNA and protein analysis, EEG recordings, cell culture and aseptic technique, and analytical methods. In the National Student Survey 2023, 93% of students in the Department of Biomedical Engineering said that teaching staff were good or very good at explaining things.
