The Biomedical Engineering with Management MSc at the University of Liverpool is at the forefront of advancing these areas.
A biomedical engineer works closely with many disciplines including life scientists, chemists and medical scientists to design, develop products and maintain equipment used for diagnosing illnesses and treating patients.
This MSc combines academic expertise from Engineering, Physics and the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences and offers the ideal opportunity to specialise in biomedical engineering and contribute towards the future development of artificial organs, medical devices and novel treatments.
We have state-of-the-art biomedical facilities including new tissue engineering and biomaterials laboratories and we are the international leader in the field of Additive Manufacturing (AM) working on both AM equipment development and the production processes for the manufacture of implants. We work with the international leaders in orthopaedic implant manufacturing and world-renowned Metrology/ AM equipment manufacturers to develop our ideas from laboratory to fabrication.
Our teaching combines traditional lectures and practical classes, plus active learning methodologies to enhance the learning experience. Assessment will take place through written examinations and continuous learning exercises. Many of the modules require students to develop skills in independent learning.
