Developed with extensive input from industry experts, our Aviation and Airport Management degree will help your career ‘take off’ in this dynamic sector. Using our state-of-the-art facilities including our Aviation and Tourism Suite, you will gain a deep understanding of the aviation environment and practices through simulated and real-life industry projects, visiting airports, networking with experts and learning first-hand how the industry functions.
One of the benefits of our course is the option of a four-year degree with a 48-week paid work placement, giving you a distinctive advantage in a competitive job market. A number of our students have also worked part-time at Birmingham Airport, and with the airport’s £500 million expansion plan to become the ‘Midlands Gateway to the World’, there are fantastic opportunities on your doorstep both during and after your studies.

FACILITIES Students on our aviation courses have access to outstanding simulation facilities in our Aviation and Tourism Suite, featuring a state-of-the-art mock plane cabin as well as check-in areas, a working security gate and Galileo GDS system for training students.
You will also have the chance to develop new skills in our Digital Creative Studio, featuring state-of-the-art video and audio production facilities including a video production studio with 4K cameras and green screen technology, audio podcasting, vision mixing and editing facilities, as well as high-spec computers with Adobe Creative Cloud software and graphics tablets.
ACCREDITATIONS AND PARTNERSHIPS University College Birmingham is a recognised Institute of Travel and Tourism Centre of Excellence.
This course has been developed with extensive input from industry experts, including Swissport.
PLACEMENTS Our course features a 48-week paid placement, during which you will not incur any tuition fees. (There is also the option to study the course without a placement.) Opportunities are also available for part-time work during the summer months.
