Applied Theology

The MA in Applied Theology at Regents is designed to develop your ability to creatively engage with the problems you encounter in your mission and ministry. The modules seek to foster a depth of biblical insight with (self-) critical theological reflection on a wide variety of relevant topics, challenging your preconceptions, and constructively resourcing your independent and original contributions to the issues explored. The fundamental premise behind our postgraduate programmes is that faith and critical reflection belong together. When faith seeks understanding, the results should include a more coherent, creative application of the Gospel and its life-transforming implications into the church, the world and the workplace.

The MA programme is designed to help you engage with critical and innovative research, enhancing your methodological skills and research expertise. The programme provides a suitable basis for those wishing to pursue further research at PhD level.

The MA programme can be accessed as a one year (full-time) or two years (part-time) course of study. The MA comprises one compulsory module, three optional modules and a dissertation. Available postgraduate optional modules cover significant areas within the discipline of Applied Theology, including biblical studies, church leadership and discipleship, chaplaincy studies, and Pentecostal theology and spirituality.
