Positive Psychology is a movement that has challenged the field of psychology to reconsider the positive aspects of life. Instead of drawing on a 'disease model', it encourages empirical research into factors that enable individuals and communities to thrive and focuses on building the best in life. Areas of study include wellbeing and its determinants, positive emotions, strengths, resilience, creativity, or optimism.

Since its creation in 1998, the field has grown dramatically, judging by the research output, widespread popularity and recognition by employers, as well as educational and governmental institutions. Facing post-pandemic and current economic and geo-politic challenges, positive psychology has become even more relevant through its focus on wellbeing, resilience and meaning.

The MSc in Applied Positive Psychology is a pioneering programme that explores the science and practice of this discipline as applied to different domains of expertise: coaching psychology, consultancy and training and organisations.

The course provides a strong foundation of the historical developments in the field, explores critical theories and perspectives, and introduces practical innovations through experiential learning and close collaboration with positive psychology and coaching psychology researchers and practitioners with decades of experience.
