About this course

The Computing industry has consistently driven change in business and in the everyday lives of individuals. This course provides an exciting opportunity to acquire the key skills that are sought after by employers. The course is divided into a number of core units that are designed to give you a broad overview of the subject area together with a number of professional tracks which will provide you with the opportunity to specialise in one or more subject areas of your own choosing.

Your Course: Building on previous knowledge and skills in Computing, the course is structured to provide opportunities across a broad academic and vocational base, progressively deepening learners’ knowledge. During the Independent Projects and the Academic Research Projects, students will be able to carry out a substantial investigation into an area of their own choosing.

Students will undertake the following modules to complete the BSc*: •Advanced Web Development •Independent Project •Academic Research Project •Database Design and Analysis •Web & Cloud Technology

There may also be an opportunity for you to research and experience emerging technologies such as: •3D printing •Networking Technology •Robotics •Virtual Reality with the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift •Unity Games Development

Entry Requirements

HND or relevant Foundation Degree.

Grade C/4 or above in GCSE English and maths are also required.

Applications from mature students with relevant professional/life experience are welcome. You may be required to provide further evidence to decide on your suitability for the course and an admissions test may be used in certain circumstances.
