Programme highlights
• Field work is a key feature of this course, with a number of day trips and a residential marine biology field trip in Year 3. • Students have undertaken placements at organisations such as Blair Drummond Safari Park, Amazonia and Scottish SPCA. • Lectures from industry professionals will help you to understand how you can transfer and apply theory in real-world situations. • This programme is fully accredited by the Royal Society of Biology and upon completion you will meet the academic requirements to be an Associate Member.
Programme details
You will study a wide range of bioscience and zoological topics in the early stages of the programme including biodiversity, animal behaviour, humankind and the biosphere, and vertebrate physiology. Later stages of the course focus on specialisms in animal diversity, aquatic ecology, conservation, entomology, parasitology, and wildlife biology. In your Honours year you will undertake an extended laboratory or field-based research project working closely with researchers in the school.
