There are also development sessions organised by the Central Research Office for LSBU’s research students and a lively annual Summer School.
Advantages of a PhD A PhD, by definition, is an original contribution to knowledge. It is distinct from a taught Masters in that your final output will be an extended dissertation or creative project relevant to your field of interest, rather than module-based coursework and exams.
Research students are expected to self-direct their learning with support from a supervisory team.
