About this course

This full-time course comprises of three related qualifications that combine to provide a pathway to BSc (Hons) in Aircraft Maintenance. The supporting qualifications are HNC and HND and are studied in successive years over three years. The course and its progression pathway are specifically targeted at providing the skills, knowledge and understanding to support a career in the aviation industry. The units of study for the whole programme are also closely aligned with the knowledge and exam elements of the UKCAA/EASA Part 66 Certifying Engineers License that are of great advantage in securing employment and establishing a career. You must also accrue 5 years of practical experience in an aircraft maintenance role on live aircraft in order to be awarded the full licence, and this will only realistically be achieved in employment after graduation. In addition, there are many other aerospace relevant jobs which are available to graduates of either the HND or BSc top-up within manufacturing and repair/overhaul in the Midlands. The programme has been aligned to the academic requirements for professional recognition as an Incorporated Engineer when combined with the BSc top-up.
