About this course

The MSc in Advanced Computer Science is intended for graduates who already have a first degree in Computer Science or a closely related subject, and who wish to extend the knowledge gained in their undergraduate study with more advanced specialised material reflecting current research at the “cutting-edge” of the discipline. The programme comprises a sequence of modules focussing on the research strengths of the department. The programme is directed at careers in the IT industry that require a degree of research and development. BCS The Chartered Institute for IT.     The programme is organised as two taught semesters followed by an individual project undertaken over the summer. During each semester MSc students study a number of modules adding up to 60 credits per semester (120 in total). This will be followed by a dissertation, also 60 credits, making an overall total of 180 credits.
