About this course

This Acting for Stage & Screen degree is a practice-based course, equipping you with the interdisciplinary skillset required by the contemporary performer. You will develop the foundations necessary to perform in both a theatrical and digital medium through a mix of workshops, lecture, seminars and autonomous, public-facing, and industry-engaged assessments. Throughout the course you will have the opportunity to stage at least three full-length productions to a paying public audience as well as develop skills and material for self-promotion and industry networking.

You will also be introduced to a range of performance-making disciplines, including: *Naturalistic Scripted Performance *Directing and Devising *Performing Shakespeare *Writing for Performance *Performance Practice-as-Research *Physical Theatre and Ensemble Practice

The course is delivered across two sites, each optimised to provide state-of-the-art resources relevant to your modules. This includes a home-from-home at Peterborough’s prestigious Key Theatre, where you will be welcomed as residents of the venue, including discounted Key Theatre Club membership, regular attendance at performances and events, work experience, part-time employment opportunities and annual performances as part of the public programme.

Students on this course are also given full access to Adobe Suite for the duration of their studies.

You will regularly engage with local, national and international industry through our team of research/industry-active expert staff, regular guest practitioners and a number of industry-focused modules.

The courses at University Centre Peterborough are studied in smaller class sizes compared with other universities, a typical class size is under 20 students.
