About this course
Home to global businesses
Manchester is one of the largest financial centres outside London, so you’ll have businesses like Deloitte and KPMG on your doorstep and plenty of opportunities to network with employers. This allows us to tap into an exciting network of guest speakers and mentors that support our students to build your own professional capabilities and readiness for graduate opportunities.
Building your expertise
We’ll cover a wide range of areas including international financial reporting standards (IFRS), sustainable finance, corporate governance and financial management. You’ll learn to apply tools and models of finance theory to understand current challenges. You’ll also be able to put theory into practice by experiencing decision making in our Bloomberg Trading Room, opening in January 2025.
Your dissertation will then put your expertise to the test. It will give you the opportunity to explore a specific topic in greater depth. This might involve working with an employer to investigate a business issue or answering a challenging research question. Combined, the range of content and approaches to learning that you will experience on this course will prepare you for an exciting range of graduate roles.
